This is an exciting opportunity at the Strathcona Community Hospital. This facility offers a 24/7 Emergency Department, and a variety of Ambulatory, Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging services. The Registered Nurse - Outpatient Clinics position is the ‘front line’ representative in delivering care within the Ambulatory Care Clinics. Based on a primary health care model, the incumbent functions within a multidisciplinary team, and is responsible for the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care. This work would involve; health promotion and prevention, health education, and treatment of illness and injury. The incumbent performs a variety of nursing related duties in accordance with clinical policies and standards. The incumbent must have strong leadership, judgement and decision making skills, as well as the ability to participate in inter-professional collaboration. The Registered Nurse will play a key role in providing safe, quality, patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. The successful incumbent will be required to support all outpatient services/clinics at the Strathcona Community Hospital.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in nursing is preferred. Minimum of 2 years, recent experience (within the last 3-5 years), in an Ambulatory Care/Outpatient/IV Therapy setting is required. PICC experience is preferred. Training and experience utilizing Connect Care; both scheduling and EMR.
