Status: Regular Part Time (0.79 FTE)

Salary: $25.33 per hour

0800-1600 / 0900-1500 /1400-2000

Days off: Sunday and Monday

Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a certified Health Care Assistant with training or experience in recreation to join the Adult Daycare program at Shorncliffe Village Care Home. Apply today to join our team!

As a Care/Activity Aide you will:
Be responsible for providing assistance to clients with personal care and carrying out established recreation programs.
Provide input to the development and evaluation of the therapeutic leisure and recreation program to meet specific client needs.
Implement and participate in established activities of the therapeutic leisure and recreation program.

Education & Experience

Grade 12.
Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program, plus
Completion of Recognized Recreational courses, plus
One (1) year recent experience working with a physically and/or mentally frail adult population including recent experience working as resident care aide/home support worker with personal care or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.

Knowledge & Abilities

Ability to deal with others effectively and respectfully.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to follow instructions and to work independently.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
