Pine Valley has open positions for a Working Construction Foreman on municipal and commercial projects ranging from $50k to $3m+ and differ greatly in scope and features. Salary is based on knowledge/ experience.

Foreman Role:

On your site, you will oversee a crew of skilled labourers, order materials, coordinate drivers, oversee sub-trades, and liaise with consultants/clients.You must be able to take a job site from start to finish. You must have the ability to read, interpret & implement construction drawings, structural drawings, & specifications in order to delegate/complete work activities.You will need to forecast upcoming work. You will operate various tools and equipment, including: heavy equipment, chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.

Different skilled trades crews from Pine Valley may support you on various features of the projects (E.g., concrete, masonry, site servicing, etc.). We expect the Working Foreman to have Heavy Equipment Operator (machine operator) experience and lead by example. Following Health & Safety COR requirements is mandatory.

Suitable Backgrounds:

You must have a minimum of 5 years experience in any of the following fields below. These are only examples

  • Landscape construction in supervisory role

  • Skilled heavy equipment operator (excavator, dozer, loader, bobcat, etc)
  • Site Services (storm, sewer, watermain)
  • Concrete Forming/Finishing (horizontal or vertical)

Behaviours, Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience supervising a crew of 3 or more.
  • Familiarity with building codes
  • Great Health & Safety awareness (COR)
  • Familiarity of daily inspections and completion of required paperwork (COR)
  • Industry Certification an asset
  • High attention to detail in technical specifications and written communication.
  • Highly structured in organization and time management, demonstrating initiative.
  • Self-starter.
  • Performance driven.
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written in English).
  • Desire to interact with clients and team in professional, patient and courteous manner.
  • Excellent knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment and techniques required to complete required tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Demonstrates ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Highly alert, and demonstrates problem solving skills.
  • Technically skilled. * Desire to embrace and use technology.
  • Carry and use a smart phone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting.
