ATCO Frontec is seeking a Baker’s Assistant to join our Camp Services department. The Baker’s Assistant is responsible to maintain a safe, orderly and sanitized kitchen and demonstrates this by using proper food handling techniques.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet daily with the Head Baker to discuss menu preparation and production strategy.
- Ensure all goods are prepared to the highest standards possible, while assisting in the maintaining of cost.
- Prepares all Baked Goods for the menu and catered events.
- Ensure the correct amount of products is prepared to control waste.
- Lead by example with our Safety beliefs.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Actively involved in ensuring they are following safe and sound procedures and are adhering to government regulations as well as ATCO Frontec Health and Safety Policies and procedures
- Various other duties as assigned by Managers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a college or other post-secondary program in cooking
- The successful candidate must hold a valid food safety certificate
- 2-3 years’ experience as Baker Helper in the hotel/restaurant industry
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Professional communication skills, oral, and written
- Work well under pressure
- Food Safe Certificate is Required
- CSTS and First Aid would be an asset
