ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
Our client, one of the most recognized civil contractors in the Vancouver market has partnered with TalentSphere to secure an organized and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join their growing Civil Construction division. Our client has an impressive portfolio of projects across the BC Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley, and has been a long standing employer of choice for the last 30 years! Through various industry associations, our client has been awarded as the contractor of choice for large earthworks, infrastructure, and specialty environmental remediation work.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The Project Coordinator will have experience with organizing, administering and controlling project activities, under the direction and supervision of a Project Manager. The Project Coordinator will support and collaborate with the Project Manager and Superintendent in overseeing and managing their assigned projects. The Project Coordination will be capable of the following responsibilities within their scope of work:

Coordinating critical project documentation, including but not limited to: general administrative and record keeping functions, review and distribution of documentation; preparation of correspondence and meeting minutes, project reporting and tracking milestones, maintenance of files, logs, drawings and specifications.
Setting up and maintaining project reporting procedures: cost reports, project status reports, document drawing control, shop drawing document control.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date logs (RFI, Vendor/Subcontractor, Purchase, Owner etc.), track responses and advise stakeholders.
Assisting in the management of trade contractor site meetings, RFIs, invoices and control document process.
Administration of the change management process by identifying and documenting contract changes, and submitting change notifications and change request pricing to the client for approval within contractual time frames.
Establishing effective on-site communications and progress reporting with subtrades and clients.
Preparing contract documents with the desired scope of work for Project Manager’s review.
Supporting the project close-out by preparing turnover documents and assists in demobilizing the site and archiving documentation.

This candidate will have the following aspects:
Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, construction Management, or other related discipline.
3-5 years of experience in Project Coordinator or similar role.
Able to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans
A solid understanding of all construction trades, safety and construction techniques.
Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation.
Strong computer background including experience with Microsoft Office, and project management software such as Bluebeam, MS Office, Timberline is an asset.
First aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets.
Ability to work in time-sensitive and high-pressure environment while maintaining a high level of quality.
A solid understanding of all construction trades, safety and construction techniques.
Good writing and verbal communication skills.
A keen eye for detail.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Able to deal with people sensitively, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
