Reporting to the Site Manager for Parking Services – Edmonton Zone, the Maintenance Worker I is responsible for the general cleaning and general maintenance of parkades and parking lots. The incumbent performs mainly manual work such as general cleaning of parkades and parking lots, parking equipment, installation of signs, spot painting of parkades, minor maintenance of equipment and snow removal with limited supervision. Must be physically able to carry out the duties of the position i.e. able to walk significant portion of time, climb ladders, work in challenging positions, lift of move heavy material or equipment. Work in all areas of the hospital both indoors and outdoors including hot, cold or dirty environments and respond promptly to parking emergencies. Incumbent will be familiar with established safety rules, regulations, procedures and WHMIS Guidelines. Incumbent is responsible for reporting and potentially hazardous or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
As a Maintenance Worker I, you may perform routine tasks related to grounds keeping and facility maintenance. Working independently and/or as part of team, you may maintain lawns, flowerbeds, trees and shrubs, collect and dispose garbage, remove snow and ice, spread salt and sand, clean mechanical rooms and shop areas, and assist tradespeople and other maintenance staff as needed.

No experience required however, 6 months in related experience preferred.
