We believe that the pathway to success is paved with user feedback, so we’re constantly asking our customers how they want to bank. When we find an opportunity to make things people will love, we assemble teams of specialists to collaborate in Digital Factories in Canada, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Colombia. We work fast, and we work smart. Join us to create meaningful experiences and build the bank of tomorrow for our customers around the world.

“This is for ongoing opportunities and not for an active or specific position. As such, you may not hear back from us immediately. In addition, this is a general overview of the Digital Product Community of Practice; therefore actual roles, in reality, will vary in their seniority and specific skill sets needed.”
What does Digital Product at Scotia really mean?
We’re obsessed with creating innovative digital products that empower our customers to bank the way they want, no matter where they are. In practice, that means we take ownership of business objectives and translate them into digital priorities that drive customer experiences. This includes both the creation of new digital products, like our new mobile app and the reimagining of existing products to revolutionize the customer experience. If you want to help define how digital products are built and build relationships with different business lines around our customer’s needs and pain points, then read on!
Who would I be working with and what are they like?
Teamwork makes the dream work! Within Digital Banking, you’ll work with other Product Owners and cross-functional teams in Design, Engineering, and Analytics. Outside of our business line, you’ll build relationships and cultivate collaboration across the entire organization. If you haven’t already caught on, we’re obsessed with customer experience, and we look for individuals who share the same values. We want to create seamless digital customer experiences that are valuable and accessible to all of our customers.
Recently, we released Scotiabank’s new mobile banking app! While this was a collaborative effort across all of Scotiabank, the Digital Product team played an integral role in creating the experiences within our newly launched mobile banking app. One thing we’re really excited about is our redesigned Help & Search experience. We identified that most of our digital customers were engaging with us to find quick answers to basic questions, so we built an autofill search function right into our mobile app. Customers can now quickly get the answers they need, take shortcuts to their desired actions, and bank the way they want—all without having to call the customer care line.
Sounds intriguing, but how do I fit in?
A background in Digital Product or Digital Project Delivery sets you up for success on our team. At times things can change on the fly, so it’s important that you can adapt quickly to lots of moving parts. Previous experience in agile environments will be helpful. While you don’t need to have a technical background, many of our projects involve several programming languages, so a high-level understanding of the technical side is an asset.
Key areas we recruit for include…
Associate Product Owner (APO) Program:
Designed for recent multidisciplinary grads with interests around technology, business, and design, this rotational program allows you to work on product teams across Digital Banking and Canadian Retail Banking. It’s a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of being a Product Owner.
Product Management / Ownership:
Build your product roadmap and assume end-to-end ownership by leading cross-functional teams to conceptualize, define, prioritize and implement new features.
Define the digital product strategy and apply a strategic, holistic lens to prioritize the roadmap, incorporating feedback from across the organization.
