About the Team

PetSmart’s Canadian Home Office (CHO) is home to approximately 50 full-time associates who work in departments such as Human Resources, Merchandise Buying and Pricing, Replenishment, Marketing, Finance, Space Planning and more. The small but mighty team at the CHO supports the operations of 140+ PetSmart stores in Canada and works closely with counterparts at PetSmart’s global corporate headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona. We also share the Canadian home office with our colleagues at PetSmart Charities of Canada—an independent, registered charity dedicated to reducing pet homelessness and supporting the bond between people and pets.

About the Job


The Manager, Digital Merchandising implements the strategy and vision for onsite merchandising, including developing and implementing site calendar, seasonal/holiday planning, and cross-category experiences. All actions will ensure that key financial and site engagement metrics are achieved to strenghten omni sales and profit targets

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

Leads and manages annual site calendar for digital business. Sets plans based on seasonal activity, enterprise priorities, content strategy, sales trends and future growth targets; Ensures site calendar process integrates into other enterprise planning processes
Sets the weekly site calendar activities to support the annual strategy; works cross-functionally to develop and implement plans
Identifies opportunities & develops content briefs to support the online content strategy based on customer insights, brand strategy and Merchandising & Digital initiatives
Works with Marketing partners to ensure end-to-end landing experience is optimized for all other marketing vehicles that strenghten customers to site
Manage & implement presentation improvements of online product assortment based on strategy. This is inclusive of product information, SEO, category information and site merchandising to maximize sales and conversion.
Review and analyze online competitor site merchandising, promotional execution and tactics, user experience and product presentation. Report findings and provides appropriate counter-strategies.
Implements digital seasonal/holiday strategy and execution; partners across the organization to ensure enterprise priorities are brought to life and optimized for digital customer journey
Analyze reporting to identify performance trends and opportunities. Communicate results and insights to the organization and use the information to strenghten experiences
Analyze business trends, key metrics, and online customer experience and react as necessary to ensure financial KPI’s are in range and being met or exceeded.
Partner across the organization to identify business optimization needs and strenghten strategy to implement
Manage/Lead direct report – Digital Specialist and responsible for the development and training of direct report.
