PeaceGeeks has several projects in motion, including an app funded by the Google.org Impact Challenge that fast-tracks refugees and immigrants in Canada on a pathway to successful resettlement with a personalized directory of settlement services, as well as a capacity building program funded by Global Affairs Canada that supports artists, activists and youth in Jordan to respond to hate and violence in online spaces.

PeaceGeeks is hiring a Marketing Specialist contractor to support our Canadian portfolio of projects aimed at helping newcomers to Canada. These projects include an app called Arrival Advisor (learn more at arrivaladvisor.ca) and an upcoming project that connects newcomers with relevant local professionals.The Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Project Manager to develop and execute digital and offline marketing efforts that drive awareness and adoption of our newcomer-facing products and features.
The Things You Love Doing
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for the following:
Develop and execute an analytics- and results-driven marketing plan for our projects including but not limited to the Arrival Advisor app.
Develop clear and concise product positioning and messaging.
Develop and execute digital and offline marketing campaigns
Conduct research and testing to understand the audience and customize marketing activities for the target audience.
Track and report on the performance of marketing campaigns.
Set KPIs to measure the performance of all marketing activities.
Use customer and market insights to help inform the product roadmap.
Work with the content writer to create content, blog posts, social media posts.
The Things You Bring To Us
Education in Marketing, Communications, or an equivalent professional qualification
A minimum of 1-2 years of Marketing experience; Product Marketing experience a strong asset
Proven ability to both plan and execute
Experience working in cross-functional teams
Strong client-facing and internal communication skills
Proven excellence in written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
A demonstrated interest and awareness of global, social issues
Graphic design skills are a strong asset
Experience in the technology, non-profit or immigration sector is an asset
Position Start Date + Time Commitment
This is a full time contract role that is expected to start as soon as possible and end approximately March 31, 2020. We are open to part time for the right candidate.
You may work from the PeaceGeeks office at the HiVE co-working space in Vancouver in the vibrant neighborhood of Gastown (128 West Hastings Street) or remotely.
