Department Overview

The analytics and data science teams across the bank are responsible for transforming TD into a data-driven organization. We are looking for someone who will be an ambitious and dedicated contributor to our teams. The Retail Risk Management Team is responsible for the development and execution of risk strategies and initiatives that will assist our key business partners in achieving growth and profitability while maintaining the overall risk quality of our lending portfolios. Business partners include Personal Lending, Real Estate Secured Lending, Indirect Lending and Business Banking.

Job Description

As an Analyst, Retail Risk Analysis and Reporting, you will be a member of a team that creates Retail Risk reports and analytics. This role involves pulling data from different databases, analyzing data, consolidating data, investigating data gaps. The job will involve SAS and tableau, therefore knowing Advance and tableau is essential.

The key accountabilities of a Risk Analyst Co-op/Intern include:

Analysis Perspectives

Support building automation for risk reports and database processes, and implement effective solutions using existing systems
Leveraging analytics, insights and best practices to improve decision-making, processes and development activities
Take up ad-hoc analytics requests and identify data to accomplish task
Programming Perspectives
Aggregate data from different data sources including SQL server, SAS Dataset and flat files
Be able to Understand SAS reporting process logic and rebuild the logic onto SQL Server Platform (Rewrite the reporting logic by using SQL Server codes) and provide Technical design document for the conversion
Be able to handle data visualization particularly by Tableau
Be able to do gap analysis when it comes to data variance and explain and suggest solutions to the business
Work well in development of test strategy, test plans, test cases and testing efforts (unit testing and integration testing of code and provide technical support to business
Produce, modify and review monthly reporting package to monitor origination and portfolio management trend
Build an end to end reporting process that is easily transitioned

Job Requirements

Currently enrolled in a recognized post-secondary program graduating by 2021
Strong statistical and analytical skills and interest are necessary.
Experience working with SAS, Tableau, MS SQL SERVER
Advanced knowledge of SAS (Data step, SQL, Macro) SQL (SQL Server codes) and working knowledge of tableau
Agility, flexibility, adaptability, a self-starter with a can-do positive attitude
Have an aptitude for numbers and love to work with big datasets
Demonstrated analytical, auditing and problem-solving skills
Solid time management and organizational abilities
Proficient with standard PC software applications such as Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
