Camp YMCA Kanawana will host rental groups and some school and day camp groups this spring, summer and fall. The coordinator for these programs will work in the Montreal Downtown office, as well as at Camp YMCA Kanawana, situated on 550 acres of pristine wilderness in the Laurentians, with three lakes and a forest trail network. Their mandate will be to manage group rentals in the spring, summer and fall, as well as manage school groups and day camps in the spring and summer.

What are the coordinator’s duties?
Under the supervision of the Camp YMCA Kanawana director, the chosen candidate will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to our nature classes and Camp YMCA Kanawana site rentals in Saint-Sauveur;
Supervising all logistical aspects of the program;
Developing programming of new activities for nature classes;
Personnel management: hiring, training, supervising and evaluating personnel members and volunteers for nature class programs;
Representing Camp YMCA Kanawana at events or during presentations to teachers or clients;
Preparing annual budgets and ensuring they are respected;
Customer service: answering emails or phone calls from nature class clients (spring/fall) and rental groups (spring/summer/fall) .

Who we’re looking for
To properly carry out their duties, the coordinator should:
Have experience in personnel management and customer service;
Possess a minimum of two years experience in nature education, a day camp, nature classes or similar (an asset);
Be fluent in French and English, spoken and written;
Have first-aid certification;
Hold a Class 5 or 4B driver’s licence (an asset);
Be passionate about working with children and teens, as well as the environment;
Be available to work flexible hours, principally evenings and weekends, according the needs of various camp groups;
Have no workplace restrictions on the basis of criminality.
