Our Advisory professionals provide a range of services to support our clients’ growth, governance, and performance objectives. Specifically, our Risk Consulting practice is comprised of business focused advisors and auditors who work to understand our clients’ business issues and to develop and execute approaches to address these challenges.
Our Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance Services (IARCS) practice is expanding, and we require a Manager with a strong background in Project Management and Major Projects to join our highly successful practice. As a seasoned professional, the ideal candidate would have the experience not only spans the technical realm, but who also has a proven track record in leading teams, client service, relationship management and business development.
KPMG Internal Audit Risk Consulting
Overview of the opportunity:
Our Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance Services (IARCS) professionals provide a range of assurance and advisory services to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal audit functions, enterprise risk management programs, project management, third-party relationships, regulatory compliance, governance and sustainability initiatives. We analyze and assess an organization’s business strategies and related business processes and systems to help management understand and address business objectives, requirements, risks, controls, and improvement opportunities. Our professionals bring both deep technical and industry experience, allowing clients to strengthen their key governance, risk management and compliance efforts while optimizing business performance.
We are looking for a dynamic professional to join our growing IARCS practice, with a specific focus on Major Projects Advisory. The successful candidate will be responsible in supporting the planning, execution, and reporting for IARCS/MPA engagements, working both as part of larger engagement teams and individually with guidance and review from more senior professionals.
What you will do:
The successful candidate will be a key member of our Risk Consulting management team involved in the delivery of client services, business development, and practice management activities including:
Assisting organizations with the development, implementation, and execution of internal audit plans and projects in an outsourcing or co-sourcing arrangement.
Leading and delivering on Board advisory services
Share insights and knowledge and be able to draw on subject matter specialists to develop relevant recommendations and solutions to improve risk management effectiveness and efficiency
Identify, develop and strengthen relationships with existing and new/potential clients responsible for risk and assurance related activities
Identify opportunities to continuously improve products/service offerings and keep abreast of relevant thought leaderships
Prepare proposals, capability statements and presentations for engagement opportunities
Manage client engagement plans, deliverables and expectations as well as review the quality of the fieldwork and deliverables prepared by engagement team members
Manage and mentor a dedicated team of senior consultants to develop and grow our staff in support of our KPMG strategic focus on KPMG for Life
What you bring to the role:
Excellent writing skills
Strong data analytics skill
Ability to identify problems and develop frameworks to provide recommendations on how to solve the problems
Outstanding presentation and communication skills (oral and written) in English, with the ability to interact confidently with all levels of management
An engineering designation, such as P.eng or E.I.T., would be an strong asset, as would other relevant professional designations, such as a PMP or CAPM combine with a solid work experience in the relevant areas
Minimum of 4-7[GS1] years of experience with a general contractor, developer, engineering firm, advisory services delivering risk management/consulting, internal audit and/or internal control projects or services.
Expertise knowledge in construction and Project Management
Ability to lead cross functional teams comprised of diverse backgrounds and skill sets
Ability to adapt methodologies and techniques to unique circumstances.
Leadership experience in proposal development and delivering presentations.
Keys to your success:
Proven track record with the types of business development activities described above is critical. An established network of relevant contacts would be very beneficial to support business development efforts
Ability to research and adopt KPMG methodologies and techniques to unique client circumstances and requirements
Demonstrated project or engagement management ability to plan and execute projects/engagements to a successful conclusion.
