UHN's Peter Munk Cardiac Centre
The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre program provides world-class cardiovascular care. One of the largest programs of its kind in North America, we are a major referral centre. Our program offers resources and expertise prepared to deal with even the most complex patient cases.

The Ambulatory Cardiac Clinic provides a variety of cardiac assessment, diagnosis, and management services to patients. We are made up of seven different clinics, and each clinic offers a specific cardiac service.

As a member of the PMCC Clinics, the principal responsibilities of the RECEPTIONIST include: answering, screening and triaging telephone calls; receiving patients/visitors coming in for tests/procedures and/or appointments; scheduling patients for tests, special procedures and/or urgent/emergency appointments; following established procedures to ensure the efficient flow of patient/patient appointments; providing routine clerical support services; performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned and/or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

At minimum, completion of post secondary certificate up to 1 year in Office Administration or recognized equivalent
Minimum 2 to 4 years practical and related experience
General knowledge of office practices, processes and procedures
Expert Microsoft office skills including Outlook, Word, and especially Excel
Excellent telephone, interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Experience working in a health care environment an asset
Knowledge of a second language an asset
Confident is using Pathway Healthcare Scheduling (PHS) and Electronic Patient Record (EPR)
Must be able to read and understand sort notes, brief forms and/or instructions
Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
Experience with PHS, EPR, Cor Health systems is an asset
Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to handle difficult patients/situations
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
