As a progressive and forward thinking leader who is committed to the protection of workers you will establish relationships across government and with labour, employer and other stakeholders to advance strategies that promote compliance and enforcement. This role also provides strategic vision and leadership to support the modernization of Alberta's labour legislative framework and improve our compliance and enforcement system. As a member of the department's executive team, you will contribute to client-focused service integration and initiatives in support of ministry goals and government priorities.

Your background includes extensive senior leadership experience managing complex programs and policy frameworks in a large organization. You have demonstrated abilities to develop collaborative environments, facilitate change, and work effectively with labour, employer and other relevant stakeholders on sensitive issues. Advanced understanding of employment standards, occupational health and safety, and labour relations within a Canadian jurisdiction including compliance and enforcement. Your negotiating and consultation skills with labour and industry, systems thinking and resource management skills will position you for success. A related degree is preferred.


This Executive Manager position offers a salary range of $153,289 - $201,175 ($5,873.18 - $7,707.88 bi-weekly). Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies.
