TREK Geotechnical Inc. is a Manitoba owned and operated engineering consulting firm providing geotechnical, environmental and hydrotechnical engineering services and material testing in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nunavut, Yukon and Alberta. TREK has provided design and construction services to many public and private sector clients in Saskatchewan and we are interested in establishing a full-time presence in the province. We are seeking a well-connected, self-motivated engineer to lead the charge! The successful candidate will be supported by our Winnipeg office but is expected to establish and grow a successful Saskatchewan operation. It is expected that an office will ultimately be established in either Regina or Saskatoon however, over the short term, we anticipate that work will be completed from a home office. Qualifications:
- University degree in Civil Engineering required. Graduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering considered an asset
- At least 10 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience
- Currently registered as a P.Eng. in Saskatchewan or eligible for registration
- Strong leadership/mentorship skills
- Strong communication skills
- Geotechnical modelling skills using GeoStudio software will be considered an asset
- Experience with PDA testing / CAPWAP analysis will be considered an asset
- Willingness to work overtime and travel
- Comfortable on construction sites
- Geotechnical experience will be considered an asset
- Resides in the province of Saskatchewan
- Valid drivers' license required
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for Saskatchewan operations for TREK reporting directly to TREK senior management.
- Lead and grow a Saskatchewan office.
- Serve as a leader and mentor to junior staff
- Serve as lead engineer on a variety of geotechnical design projects.
- Interact with clients on projects
- Coordinate work for junior engineers and field staff
- Review and direct analyses completed by junior staff
- Prepare and review project deliverables (reports and specifications)
- Prepare proposals
- Plan and coordinate field investigations
- Other engineering related responsibilities such as construction management services
