Community Outreach Worker
Individual and group work with individuals who have a mild intellectual disability in a community organization setting.
Provide practical assistance with the development of life skills: home visits, practical assistance and follow up in the community, budgets and grocery shopping.
Participate in the implementation and animation of programs and activities, for example, residential, social, and group activities, and special events such as fundraising, trips, outings Develop, implement and coordinate client intervention plans and client review meetings with clients, families and professionals.
Resource linking and developing a network of support adapted to the needs of the clientele
Bachelor’s Degree in a helping profession such as human relations, psychology, sociology or social work.
Experience working with individuals who have an intellectual disability is an asset. Access to a car is necessary.
Bilingualism: Good knowledge of English and French, verbal and written
Capacity to work independently and to manage a caseload of clients. Ability to exercise good judgment and respect when collaborating with others. Team player: the ability to hear different viewpoints and collaborate with others toward the best possible outcome. Flexibility: Involvement in a variety of programs and events in order to provide the best possible services to clients.
Hours of work: Day, evening and alternate Saturdays
