Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Application of technical expertise of MicroStrategy on production reports and development of MicroStrategy solutions
  • Work with business clients to understand their requirements and produce functional specification documents
  • Work closely with the ETL Programmers, QA Analysts and business clients, to resolve any requirement and specification issues as they arise
  • Liaise with Project Managers, QA Analysts, and Business Intelligence Consultants
  • Work with business and data requirements and analysis to develop extensive documentation on the requirements and functional specifications for the Data Warehouse developers
  • Support the Data Warehouse development team to ensure requirements are understood
  • Analyze, design, develop, and test Business Intelligence initiatives from detailed and high level specifications, and assist in troubleshooting
  • Utilize SQL (DB2, Oracle, and Teradata), Perl, Java, and C to perform tasks other than data transformation
  • Conduct unit tests and assist in test preparations to ensure data integrity
  • Design and develop web solutions for internal use
Required Skills, Education, Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong knowledge in MicroStrategy report development, report testing, report tuning, ad-hoc, and scheduling report deliverables and alerts
  • Experience with MicroStrategy web customization with XML, XSL, and HTML
  • Solid knowledge and experience with designing and developing online documents as well as iPad reporting tools based on the MicroStrategy platform
  • Solid understanding of the Data Warehousing end-to-end development lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, UNIX, C, RDMS (Oracle) and Data Warehousing
  • 3-5 years of work or educational experience in JavaScript/jQuery and capable of writing scalable code for single page applications
  • 3-5 years of work or education experience in Java/JSP programming and strong knowledge of object oriented design patterns
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in a business or information technology environment
  • Solid knowledge and experience with SAP R/3 (modules: MM,PP,CO,SD,HR) and SAP Business Warehouse for the retail industry
  • Experience programming in object oriented languages (C#/.Net etc.) would be an advantage to understand and contribute to the organization’s end-to-end solution
  • Strong knowledge of mobile development with iOS and Android
  • In-depth knowledge of HTML and DOM
  • Experience with building rich UI designs using CSS3/HTML5 Java and C++
  • Experience with jQuery, Node, and Backbone frameworks
  • Strong ability to carry out various software development activities such as analyzing, coding, testing, debugging, maintenance and documentation
  • Comprehensive understanding of MVC and REST
  • Understanding of Data Warehouse architecture with a dimensional data model
  • Self-motivated individual who takes pride in delivering high quality work and works as an integral part of a team

  • Have experience working within the structure of a large organization

  • Experience programming in object oriented languages (C#/.Net etc.) would be an advantage to understand and contribute to the organization’s end-to-end solution
  • Experience managing transporter base to ensure consistent customer service and daily on-time delivery by working cross functionally and with client

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or higher education (Computer Science)
