Reporting to the Principal, the Relief Secretary is responsible for providing confidential, administrative and financial support services for the school in order to maintain effective and orderly operations. The incumbent provides administrative assistance and client support to the School's students, their families and members of the public. You will participate in supervisory and extra-curricular activities in order to provide opportunities for all students. In addition, the Relief Secretary will maintain student records in order to ensure an accurate and update registry of students and student achievement.
The knowledge, skills and abilities include, but are not limited to, strong interpersonal skills, dealing effectively with staff, students, parents and the public. The ability to maintain strict confidentiality of records and information. The incumbent must have knowledge of bookkeeping and purchasing procedures. In addition, the Relief Secretary should be able to make decisions and solve problems within the scope of the job.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
Completion of Grade 10, combined with completion of a Secretarial Arts or Office Procedures Program and/or related secretarial experience. Equivalencies will be considered.
