About the Opportunity
Cumberland Mental Health & Addiction Services is seeking a psychiatrist to join the community outpatient team. The team consists of three psychiatrists (two general and one child/adolescent), social workers, nurses, and psychologists.This outpatient clinic is located in downtown Amherst and serves all of Cumberland County.
Outpatient services include:
child, adolescent, and adult care
rural satellite clinics
seniors mental health
support for those with serious mental illnesses
collaborative care program
There is also specialized consultation available for persons with neurodevelopmental disorders, hearing losses, and other.
work with an outpatient mental health team
participate in some consultation in the medical units and emergency department at the nearby community hospital
on call requirement
all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
all specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
