Steel River Solutions is seeking experienced, hard-working individuals to fill Equipment Operator positions for an upcoming temporary project. Candidates must live in the Sparwood, BC area in order to be considered.

Key Job Duties:
Safe and efficient operation of excavator, side boom, loader, dozer, grader, fuel & service trucks, etc.
Provide light maintenance, cleaning and routine service to equipment
Perform routine inspections to ensure safety operability of all equipment
Load, unload, identify and distribute materials and equipment
Clean construction work areas where needed
Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks
Other tasks and duties as assigned

Capable of working in a safety-focused team environment
Previous pipeline experience in an operator capacity
Reliable and strong work ethic
High school diploma or equivalent; and/or a combination of education and relevant work experience, an asset
Excellent communication skills: written and verbal skills, listening skills, proven attention to detail, and ability to develop good working relationships

Training & Certifications

Including but not limited to:
WHMIS 2015
Standard First Aid, an asset
Construction Safety Training System (CSTS-09)
Pipeline Construction Safety Training (PCST)
H2S Alive
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), an asset
Ground Disturbance Level II, an asset
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and ability to provide a clean Driver’s Abstract, an asset
Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

Working Conditions:
This position is field based and work is required within remote project locations around the Sparwood, BC area
Travel and/or living in temporary accommodations is required
The work schedule is 6 days on, 1 day off with 12 hours per shift
The project will run from August to November
Must be willing to work long hours outdoors
