At Soaring: Indigenous Youth Empowerment Gathering, high school students learn about a myriad of career and post-secondary education options. Students participate in career workshops, learn about financial support and meet some of Canada’s top employers. Get paid to help Indspire achieve our goals to advance Indigenous achievement and education to First Nation, Inuit and Metis youth!
WHEN: Wednesday, March 4th Mandatory – Orientation/Event Set-up – Time 4pm – 8pm
Thursday, March 5th 7:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: The Westin Ottawa, 11 Colonel By Dr, Ottawa, ON K1N 9H4
WHO: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Selected applicants will be required to have Police Record Check including a venerable sector screening paid by Indspire. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for long periods. Travel to the event and parking at the event will be at the expense of the applicant.
WHAT: Paid volunteers will assist with various duties for Soaring: Indigenous Youth Empowerment Gathering including but not limited to: main hall set up, registration and or tradeshow assistance, work shop room monitors, provide directions to conference attendees and assist with conference tear down. Paid volunteers must be able to stand for long periods of time and be a team player.
COMPENSATION: $100 total honorarium for helping on March 4th & 5th, 2020. Lunch and snacks will be provided the day of Soaring: Indigenous Youth Empowerment Gathering on March 5th, 2020.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Deadline to apply is Friday February 14th 2020.
CHOSEN APPLICANTS: Chosen applicants will be contacted by email and/or phone the last week of February to confirm roles and responsibilities until all 20 positions are filled.
