Reporting to the General Manager, the candidate will support the needs of the business planning, organizing and coordinating construction projects to ensure they are completed on time and in budget. The candidate must be organized; motivated; comfortable dealing with vendors, clients, consultants and site superintendents; and have a minimum of 5 years experience as a Construction Project Coordinator.
Create and maintain project budgets
Read and understand construction and shop drawings
Issue tender documents to subcontractors and award subcontracts
Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects
Coordinating with vendors; clients; consultants and site superintendents
Coordinate and run site meetings, including detailed minute taking
Assist in planning, coordinating and supervising construction activities including crew and equipment
Manage and maintain plans; specifications; costs and material estimates; as well as subcontractor and related reports
Coordinate procurement of construction materials and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy
Creating; circulating; logging and maintaining construction documentation (RFI; change order; contracts; subcontracts; closeout documentation; etc.) and project files
Diploma or Degree in Construction Management
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the role of Construction Project Coordinator
Understanding of the Ontario Building Code and Ministry of Labour requirements
Understanding of engineering and architectural design processes
Valid Driver's Licence and own vehicle
Good working knowledge of general software such as Excel, Word and MS Project
Experience with Jonas Construction Software would be an asset
Ability to work in a very fast-paced and demanding environment
Knowledge of construction project management
Confident and personable
Ability to provide simultaneous support for needs across multiple projects in various phases
Able to instigate action for sub-trades, vendors and suppliers
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Can confidently and accurately communicate the task at hand
Proficient in producing Gantt chart construction project schedules
Must be able to work extended hours, including weekends when required
