Key Responsibilities:
Oversee, organize and schedule the activities of your crew who operate construction, paving, and other maintenance or similar heavy equipment and vehicles;
Work with the Operations Manager and other site foreman and supervisors to meet work contracts deadline and Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans;
Meet with crew members regularly, schedule their work loads and assist management in the organizing of activities to ensure that work orders are completed.
Allocate general and daily responsibilities to your crew;
Ensure manpower and resources are adequate and monitor attendance of crew, including resolving any work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity;
Order all materials and supplies needed;
Oversee the staff training and orientation with all crew members;
Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions to Operations Manager;
Prepare production and other reports as required;
Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of related labourers;
Supervise the use of machinery and equipment;
Resolve problems and emergencies when they arise at the job site;
Report on ongoing basis progress to Operation manager and other site supervisors etc.
Responsible for personal safety, co-workers and general public
Strong familiarity with the safe operation of different heavy equipment;
Performs all duties in compliance with safe work practices, policies, procedures and government regulations;
May perform repair work on heavy equipment or vehicles
Additional duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
Completion of secondary school;
Three or more years’ experience working on construction crew with working knowledge and understanding of work.
Experience in removing asphalt, concrete and landscaping demolition, excavation, installing gravel, setting grades, and asphalt paving procedures which may involve raking, luting, tamping, and rolling.
Equipment experience with skid steer, excavator, paving spreader, steel drum roller, rubber tire rollers and hand tools.
Completion of construction field required certifications preferred (i.e. Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness – 5 steps; WHMIS; First Aid; CPR; Propane Training; Supervisor Training; Traffic Control Training);
Familiar with on-site construction activities;
Able to perform physically demanding tasks;
Clear Driver’s Abstract and minimum G Class License.
DZ/AZ License would be preferred
Mechanically inclined.
