The Accommodation Services Assistant positions are responsible for supporting the Residence Accommodation operation. This includes providing customer service support, reservation management for our guest accommodations and front desk support. This position works closely with the Residence Operations Coordinator, Administrative Officer – Accommodation Services and the Residence Life Lead Attendant.
Responsibilities of the Accommodation Services Assistant include:
Customer Service & Administrative Duties
Provides administrative support for Residence Move-In, Move-Out, Health and Safety Inspections, Maintenance Requests, Emergency evacuations, and daily Residence Operations
Provides administrative support for Guest Accommodation Check-In, Check-Out, Health and Safety Inspections, Maintenance Requests and Emergency Evacuations
Process transactions utilizing point of sale system and maintenance of cash float including daily cash reconciliation
Completes Closing procedures daily
Performs on-call duty responsibilities including responding to residents and guests requests, complaints, emergency situations and general supervision of Residence
Taking reservations for conference and short term accommodation guests in person and over the phone
Preparing conference guest lists detailing room assignments
Sorting and distributing keys for both individuals and groups
Completing and distributing a spreadsheet to the housekeepers detailing the rooms requiring cleaning and/or towel changes
Minimal daily housekeeping tasks
Minimum completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent to about 12 years of schooling
A minimum of 6 months experience in a Post Secondary or customer service based industry
General computer knowledge
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Completion of a 1 – year college certificate, one year University or equivalent
Knowledge of Red Deer College including the physical environment as well as the services offered is an asset
Salary or Hourly? Hourly Salary $19.30 per hour Benefits and Compensation Information
An additional 8% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation. Eligibility to access benefits is dependent upon the CUPE Collective Agreement.
