Founded in 1989, CanWel is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia and trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol CWX, and is Canada’s only fully integrated national distributor in the building materials and related products sector.

CanWel operates multiple treating plants and planing facilities in Canada and the United States, and operates distribution centres coast to coast in all major cities and strategic locations across Canada, and near San Francisco and Los Angeles, California. CanWel distributes a wide range of building materials, lumber, and renovation products. In addition, through its CanWel Fibre division, CanWel operates a vertically-integrated forest products company based in Western Canada, operating from British Columbia to Saskatchewan, also servicing the US Pacific Northwest. CanWel owns approximately 136,000 acres of private timberlands, strategic Crown licenses and tenures, log harvesting and trucking operations, several post and pole peeling facilities, and two pressure-treated specialty wood production plants.

SUMMARY

Reporting to the National Accounts Specialist, the National Accounts Sales Coordinator supports sales administration and marketing functions of the National Accounts and Product Management teams working with CanWel’s Vendors and Customers. This role has secondary reporting responsibilities to the General Manager – Quebec Region to support the Rona/Lowes business.

This role is responsible for creating and maintaining a comprehensive product database and customer cross-reference tables. In addition, this position will be responsible for standardizing and producing national price pages for selected product lines, completing product onboarding templates, managing online product databases (including GS1 and Customer-based portals) and coordinating regional/national show activity.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive product/pricing databases and cross reference tables
  • Complete required templates for item creation and data/marketing support via customer portals
  • Establish a productive, professional relationship with key personnel both internally and externally
  • Organize, standardize, and manage pricing pages in collaboration with Product Managers, Branches and JDE pre-pricing coordinator
  • Coordinate and communicate promotional activity including bookings, forecasting, re-buys, and regional/national shows
  • Communicate national pricing changes, new/discontinued items, product launches, and promotions to National Accounts customer base
  • Coordinate marketing tools, assist with preparing presentations, materials, and samples as needed
  • Coordinate new stores/conversions, suggested opening orders, fixtures, and PK training
  • Assume other responsibilities and special projects as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Sales and Marketing

  • Minimum 3 years of related sales or marketing support experience
  • Experience with marketing strategies and tactics, including promotional displays, campaigns, and in-store signage
  • Strong experience in product marketing in a B2B environment
  • Able to multi-task under tight deadlines and prioritize
  • Experience with retail business systems such as Syndigo (Edgenet), Commport, GS1, Lowes Link
  • Understand basic retail accounting principles and practices

  • High proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Expert level of Excel (pivot tables, formulas)
  • Ability to clearly communicate, written and verbal, with internal and external parties in a professional and courteous manner
  • Excellent English communication skills, bilingualism (French/English) is preferred

EDUCATION

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Marketing is a minimum requirement
