Bell Media is seeking a motivated, outgoing and organized individual to join the EZ Rock team in beautiful Trail, BC. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in learning all aspects of the radio broadcast business and wants to develop their news reporting and on-air skills. As a key connection to our clients and listeners, you will be hands on with station promotions, social media, and with community members.

Promotions and On-Air Responsibilities:
Coordinate with sales and programming to develop and execute revenue generating promotions and marketing initiatives
Assist sales in developing proposals for station promotions
Attend community and station events, including coordinating with sales rep and/or event organizer in advance of event, sourcing prizing and swag for event, packing and unpacking station gear and performing live cut-ins
Working with the Digital Content team, manage website content including community events, contents and concert calendar
Maintain and regularly update station social media accounts
Assist Programming in implementing sponsored and station promotions on the air
Source, inventory, supervise and store all prizing for promotional events, live broadcasts and remotes
Maintain station promotional vehicles, signage, and equipment
Coordinate on location schedule with sales and programming staff
Book promotional ads for station events and non-profit partnerships
Attend semi-monthly city council meetings, conduct interviews, create notes and audio clips for news reporting
Regular voice tracking and relief coverage for on air staff
Other duties as assigned
Oversee telephone switchboard operation
Prepare all outgoing mail and distribute all incoming mail as required
Create and maintain a user friendly multi-departmental filing system, ie for faxes, incoming couriers, mail, etc
Maintain on site stock of postage and other consumables for all printers, copiers etc
Order non-stationary office supplies (cleaning supplies etc)
Graduate of an accredited broadcasting school preferred
1 – 2 years experience in promotion, communication and/or event planning
Experience with Wide Orbit, Adobe Audition and Photoshop a strong asset
Experience in an administrative position
Strong communication, writing and creativity
Proven competency with Microsoft office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
A team player who is also a self-starter and comfortable working with minimal supervision
Friendly and outgoing with a mature, calm and professional demeanor
Valid driver’s license
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
