Job Description

Position Summary:
Bionera and its parent company, PRT Growing Services, are the leaders in establishing and managing large-scale woody biomass plantations to help solve energy, waste management and environmental issues. Reporting the Project Manager, Bionera’s Field Supervisor is responsible for supervising willow planting crews of approximately 11-15 people. This is a supervisory position that will require you to work with planting crews, as well as operating forklifts and/or skid-steer machinery.

The duration of the planting project is expected to last 4-6 weeks, potential for longer-term position for the right person.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
The ideal candidate will have:
A degree or diploma in agriculture, crop production, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Five or more years of horticulture or crop production experience

Experience leading and managing crop production teams

Demonstrated experience and understanding of safety requirements and legislation as it related to farm equipment

Working knowledge of general machine maintenance

Ability to operate small farm equipment and skid steers

Effective communication and reporting experience

Knowledge or experience with continuous process improvement in a production environment will been seen as an asset
