POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Acklands-Grainger (AGI) is undergoing a digital marketing transformation. As part of this, the Manager, Digital Marketing will play a key role in the strategic development, implementation and execution of digital marketing programs and promotions. This role will support the short and long term digital strategy and roadmap across the email and social media channels, along with effectively executing the supplier partner marketing program to drive impact and revenue.

This role is instrumental in staying up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends, technology and best practices to stay abreast of the changes and know exactly how they will affect business. The manager will interact with cross functional teams (CFTs)/internal and external stakeholders to develop customer facing marketing initiatives against predefined key performance indicators (KPI). He/she will provide analytics and insights for improving the performance of digital programs to maximize sales and profitability growth, and ensure budgets are optimized.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Email Strategy, Management and Execution

Lead the strategic development and 1 year roadmap to build a best-in-class email marketing program.
Optimize and enhance all Promotional and Transactional email communications, incorporating dynamic content to maximize customer relevancy and conversion.
Develop new behavioural and event-based Triggered email programs.
Lead the end-to-end development and deployment of compelling email creative through the effective management of external agency partners while ensuring alignment with overall corporate brand positioning.
Develop customer and internal initiatives to grow the size and quality of opt-in email database.
Manage relationship with 3rd party email service providers to ensure optimal solution and technology design, data integration and program execution.
Track, monitor and provide reporting on all email results.
Research and analyze competitor and other relevant B2B email programs to ensure leadership position and apply findings to improve overall performance and customer engagement.
Ensure adherence to federal marketing and privacy legislation (CASL, CAN-SPAM/FISA, PIPEDA)

Executing with Excellence on the Supplier Partner Program

Responsible for development of the digital communication plan ensuring collaboration with Cross-Functional and Supplier Partners.
Work closely with internal key stakeholder and gathering feedback from supplier partners to uncover new opportunities to maximize exposure of marketing campaigns.
Execute the plan with excellence; ensuring timely completion of postmortem analyses.
Responsible for managing the Supplier Partner billing process to ensure timely invoices and payments.

Social Media Support and Execution

Support the yearly social media strategy and plan.
Mange the day-to-day social media agency relationship to drive meaning of AGI’s newly defined brand on social.
Partner closely with Internal Communications/PR, Customer Experience and eCommerce to share KPIs and to ensure that all customer inquiries or issues are addressed in a timely matter.
Ensure the social playbook and response matrix are followed.
Responsible for the design, plan and maintenance of social media presence and management of content calendar for Facebook and Twitter.
Conduct competitive analysis and research of social trends and technologies to maximize programs and ensure industry leadership position.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years’ experience in digital marketing and eCommerce, preferably in a multi-channel B2B sales-oriented environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Business /Commerce or equivalent
Proven track record of developing and executing comprehensive, innovative and successful digital campaigns.
Experience with Adobe Suite – Audience Manager, Target, DTM, Campaign, Analytics and Media Optimizer
Solid experience managing 3rd party email service providers (e.g., Adobe Campaign, Oracle/Responsys etc.).
Strong knowledge in Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
Experience in eCommerce, SEM, SEO, and social media
Proven project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, react with urgency and reprioritize as needed, to ensure all objectives and project deadlines are met
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively across all business functional areas and levels of an organization to attain goals and drive business results.
