The Education Administrative Services Branch within the Department of Education is looking to fill both a regular and term Clerk 3 position located in Winnipeg. Qualifications:Essential:
Post-secondary training in an administrative assistant or business administration program with experience providing clerical and administrative support. An equivalent combination of related education, training and/or extensive experience may be considered
Experience developing and/or maintaining paper and electronic filing systems
Extensive experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access) or similar software applications with direct experience maintaining spreadsheets and databases
Strong analytical skills with experience compiling data and producing reports
Excellent customer service skills with experience providing client support both in person, over the phone and by email
Excellent verbal communication skills
Strong written communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to foster and maintain strong working relationships
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks, prioritize work and effectively manage deadlines
Ability to work independently while demonstrating initiative and sound judgement
Demonstrated ability to interpret and explain policy and/or regulatory requirements

Desired:
Experience working with microfilm and microfiche relative to retrieving data

Duties:
The Clerk 3 is responsible for providing administrative and program support to the Unit. This support includes collection, editing, storage and retrieval of distinctive data; data entry; maintaining data bases and producing reports; conducting computer updates, edits for submission and data requests; compiling statistical data; processing and tracking documentation. The incumbent may also be responsible for specialized tasks such as: issuing School Bus Operator Certificates; making logistical arrangements; preparing materials for annual training seminars; preparing accounts payable documentation; creating and maintaining unique student identity MET numbers; managing the collection of student high school course completions and generating official provincial transcripts of high school course completions.
