The Brant Count Health Unit is currently accepting applications for a challenging and rewarding career opportunity as a Clinic Dentist.

The Brant County Health Unit is one of 35 health units in Ontario. The Brant County Health Unit serves a population of 136,035 in an area of 1,093km². We provide health promotion, protection and disease prevention programs and services designed to help all members of the community achieve and maintain optimal health. We strive to provide excellence in public health, exemplifying the spirit of innovation, quality and collaboration. We collaborate with other organizations and groups, including government, police, schools, and community agencies. Together we combine our expertise to plan and deliver programs and services in our community.

Reporting to the Manager, Clinic Services, the Clinic Dentist will provide basic, ongoing clinical dental care to children, adolescents, and seniors, attending dental clinics operated by the Health Unit. This position is also responsible for supervising oral health professionals in a clinic setting to ensure effective teamwork and efficient flow of patients. The hours of work for this position will vary based upon operational requirements.

Qualified applicants must possess a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from a university recognized by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. This degree must be complemented by knowledge of current clinical techniques and procedures, including Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and infection control measures and procedures. Must possess excellent computer skills for electronic record systems. As well, the ability to work co-operatively with staff, clients and parents in a clinical setting are essential. Applicants will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); especially with youth, children, and seniors, and the ability to form partnerships with Dentists and other care providers in order to ensure accessibility of dental care and treatment for priority groups. A valid CPR Certification, Health Care Provider level is also necessary.
