Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for a Business Relationship Manager to join the team. This position reports to the Manager, Strategy & Architecture in the Information Services Unit (ISU), part of Pembina’s Corporate Service’s division.

Summary of Responsibilities
This role will focus on developing and maintaining a strategic partnership between business stakeholders and the Information Services (IS) teams to ensure IS opportunities are in alignment with Pembina’s corporate strategy. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded understanding and experience with the midstream energy industry combined with excellent interpersonal skills to influence and engage colleagues. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Work with ISU teams and their clients to develop, deliver and manage client plans (project & application portfolios, and scorecards). Routinely meet with clients to review and adjust client plans;
Facilitate and drive ISU client alignment at senior levels by levering relationship skills, and promote a deep understanding of client strategies, business goals and objectives.
Build client relationships that accommodates both horizontal and vertical engagements between client and ISU leaders;
Work with senior leaders to evolve culture and organizational behavior, elevating ISU into a strategic partner;
Act as the liaison to the client identifying, leading and driving information technology transformation;
Participate with the ISU team to ensure that the client’s strategy and performance indicators are identified and leveraged for effective ISU demand shaping;
Partner with enterprise architects to develop technology enablement business capability roadmaps;
Routinely meet with end customers/consumers, industry peers, and other external sources to gain insights for innovation technology solutions;
Engage with the business analysts to ensure that essential business requirements are understood, captured, and reflected in solution documentation;
Steward continuous improvement initiatives for value optimization, ISU performance, and business processes where applicable;
Proactively identify business capability and ISU service gaps and contribute to improvement efforts;
Partner with ISU leaders and clients to measure and communicate business value results on a regular basis;
Learn and apply expert understanding of client processes, including the Pembina ISU Business Relationship Management (BRM) Practice / framework;
Learn and apply a mastery of business acumen, including an understanding of the clients’ operations, industry, economic trends and issues;
Demonstrate a deep understanding of organizational resources, priorities, needs and policies to deliver on our commitments to our clients;
Provide strong insight into operational best practices in Client Management & support;
Plan and facilitate complex assessments, understanding client challenges and opportunities, and reaching lasting agreements;
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Pembina capabilities and apply knowledge of ISU services and solutions related to the client’s business;
Be known for thriving in ambiguity and successfully navigating and leading through areas of grey;
Apply creativity and judgment in developing new approaches and solutions; and
Clearly define problems, logically diagnose causes, and identify solutions.

The ideal candidate has a background in managing client relationships, at many organizational levels, and with excellent communication skills, including effective listening, verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Additional qualifications include:

Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or a related field;
Business Relationship Manager Professional (BRMP®) certification is an asset;
Minimum 8+ years’ experience in a role with progressive people or project leadership accountabilities;
Previous experience in a client facing delivery role and supervisory/leadership role is an asset;
Strong partnership-building and facilitation skills to help promote collaborative working relationships between the clients and Information Services Unit (ISU), including conflict resolution and consensus building;
Excellent negotiation skills in-order to collaborate, influence and work effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders;
Proven track record in establishing credible and effective working relationships with client business areas;
Experience in portfolio management and/or business case development and governance is an asset; and
Excellent organizational change management knowledge and skills.
