You will be applying security disciplines across new domains of big data, cloud, wireless and wireline networks, and massive converged edge networks for TELUS clients.

As a Senior Consultant (Cyber Security Complex Solutions) your arsenal of knowledge spans across sales process, project management, matrix management, contract obligations and commitments, and complex proposal development to drive end-to-end TELUS security deals.

The Complex Solutions Consultant is a customer-facing sales support position which bolsters the security sales strategy. You are a respected advisor to the account team and clients. Your natural abilities to analyze business needs and effectively create compelling complex IT security solutions sets you apart.

You take pride in delivering exceptional consultative service to secure deals which are in excess of $1M and often with larger deals exceeding $10M. At the core of your talents is your ability to “see” the big picture - you guide and oversee the bid strategy and win themes, pricing, teaming, and proposal general format. You manage transition from opportunity discovery to the proposal process where ultimately the deal is closed.

Here’s how

Expert in Solution Development:
Lead the development of a solution vision and creative win themes that map to the customer's security needs
Manage various stakeholder groups to ensure the right solution is developed that meets the client's requirements
Optimize operational models with a focus on solutions rather than products; lead the development and completion of comprehensive financial analysis of solutions developed, executing the approval process at appropriate sign-off levels
Influential Partner: Assist in vetting partnership arrangements for feasibility and alignment strategy, negotiate and establish necessary partnership agreements where required

Collaborative Team-Player:
Engage with Enterprise and Small Medium Business sales specialists and the greater account team (account managers, design engineers, solution architects, product managers, operations managers, and others) to develop security solutions which meet our clients’ business needs and align with TELUS’ strategic initiatives
Work closely with project and implementation managers to ensure successful handoff and rollout of complex solutions
Trusted Advisor: Provide guidance to Account Teams in the development of deal specific pursuit strategies and support opportunity development with stakeholder groups
Creative Thinker: Provide strategic leadership in the formulating innovative, often non-standard solutions that encompass multiple product/service capabilities
Business Development Expert: Fulfill ownership role in the development of business solutions for assigned opportunities, coordinating solution design meetings to engage and manage all appropriate stakeholders in the solution development
Diligent Organizer: Update executive team on solution development progress, including reports on evolving financials, operational or support challenges, and risk register issues
Confident Presenter: Participate in executive reviews where appropriate, including presenting key elements with credibility (i.e. risks, pricing strategy, costs & resource requirements)

Qualifications

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle

Valued for your 5+ years of experience in technology and consulting services
Strong business background with progressive career covering sales, marketing, business operations, financial accountability, and client service
Proven record in strategic selling to internal and external clients
High level of knowledge and competence across IT Architecture, business strategy, services sales, project delivery, leadership and technical acumen
Knowledge regarding the benefits and risks inherent with information technology and security solutions
Understanding of the challenges associated with a partnership in terms of revenue recognition and contract obligations
Knowledge of the managed security services and outsourcing services marketplace with sufficient Information Technology technical and operations knowledge to credibly sell and represent TELUS in the marketplace is ideal (Internal posting only)
Familiarity with RFI/RFP, sales pursuit, and bid review processes, ideally in the public sector space and in support of federal, provincial and municipal requirements
Ability to envision, scope, estimate and manage large complex architectures for platform development and deployment projects
Knowledge in the Integrity of the Solution in the following areas: Financial, Technical, Contractual, and Governance
Advanced presentation and communication skills – design and deliver effective business cases; express ideas clearly to gain consensus in plans for both the customer and TELUS stakeholders
Post-secondary degree or technical diploma in Computer Science/Engineering/MIS or equivalent
