Responsible for client relations through psychoeducational groups, individual and group counselling
Develops action plans with individual clients to direct them towards a continuum of care and holds them accountable to program requirements
Must participate in the intake of clients to the in-house Stabilization Unit and Treatment Program
Ensures that lectures are prepared and given in a manner acceptable to the Treatment Program Manager, and in accordance with the program manual and the monthly schedule
Monitors client participation in the program
Builds therapeutic rapport with clients
Ensures proper documentation is completed
Ensures that clients become acclimatized to their new environment

Willingness to adhere to the Mission and values of The Salvation Army.
The successful applicant will have completed ICADC, CCAC or University Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
One-year related experience, including experience in the applicable community social services sector.
Prior 12-Step-based counselling experience is a definite asset.
A working knowledge of substance addictions, homelessness and poverty issues and practical knowledge of life skills.
Ability to conduct group discussions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, organization and administration skills, and strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office.
Willingness to work in a drug and alcohol-free environment with zero tolerance policy.
Qualify for and be willing to obtain enhanced security clearance.
