Bishop’s University is seeking a Student Recruitment & Admissions Officer for a temporary position. Reporting to the Manager of Student Recruitment, the incumbent will recruit for the University, visiting high schools, colleges, and attending educational fairs throughout the country, with the potential to recruit internationally. The incumbent will participate in the coordination of recruitment efforts including scheduling of school visits, participation in educational fairs and organization of on-campus and off-campus events. The incumbent will also support the day-to-day operation of the Student Recruitment & Retention Office including the campus tour program and other administrative tasks as required.
The position requires dynamic public speaking in a variety of situations; therefore, the incumbent must have strong presentation, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a competitive spirit and the drive to not only attain, but surpass, recruitment targets. The incumbent must also be able to analyse market conditions in order to suggest strategic improvements.
The incumbent will establish, maintain and improve relationships between Bishop’s University and guidance counsellors and school officials from high schools and CEGEPS. The working period of this position is from June 2020 to June 2021 and involves significant travel.
Qualifications & Requirements
University degree, preferably from Bishop’s University;
Excellent oral and written skills. The ability to speak French is an asset;
Strong public relations and presentation skills;
Ability to work independently with little supervision;
Strong sense of initiative;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills;
Willingness to work weekends and irregular hours;
Valid driver’s license and passport.
Classification: Class 11 $23.81 to $31.07 per hour (APBU – unionized position)
